Today the Lance Armstrong Assoc. and Nike will announce that more than 70 million of those (banana colored) yellow Livestrong wristbands have been sold since the program began in 2004, raising $63 million for cancer research and programs.

"Livestrong has become something bigger, a way of life, a challenge, a goal, away to set the bar higher," Armstrong recently told USA TODAY.

Aside from the hands n' bands, Livestrong will introduce a new line of clothing and shoes Oct. 2, the 11th Anniversary of Armstrong's cancer diagnosis. Our goal is to create a sustainable process to support Lance in his drive for momentum around this issue," Mark Parker, Nike Inc. president and CEO, said in an email to USA TODAY correspondant, Sal Ruibal.

Personally, I'm getting ready to launch my new charity... It's "let's make the world smile". I'll start a campaign for people to donate a $1 for every smile I give 'directly' to or at them. Obviously 100% of the money would go to my non-profit organization..."let's make the world smile," a foundation built to help people cope with mental illness through the art of smile.

It's just a little way for me to help give back to the world.
